Kent Police have confirmed a 12-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after an assault of a teenage girl in Sittingbourne.

The 15-year-old girl suffered injuries "consistent with a knife wound" at Adelaide Drive at 3.55pm on Friday (22 March).

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons relating to his age was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today (25 March).
