The tallest and fastest rollercoaster in the UK is opening at Thorpe Park in Surrey today (24 May).

The adventure park says Hyperia reaches heights of 236 feet and speeds exceeding 80mph.

Riders will be turned upside down three times and will apparently experience feelings of weightlessness.

The new attraction which cost £18 million pounds to build is part of Thorpe Park's 45th birthday celebrations.
