An evacuation center has been opened for residents affected by a large industrial fire in Mansfield.

It broke out on Saturday afternoon and was attended by over 100 firefighters from 16 crews, following a call to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service at 3.45pm.

Videos on social media showed flames and plumes of smoke billowing from the building.

Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported, but some residents have had to leave their homes.

The Oak Tree Leisure Centre, located in Jubilee Way South, has been opened for those affected by the fire.

Nottinghamshire Police are supporting the firefighters in their efforts to control the blaze.

Chief Inspector Amy Styles-Jones advised people to stay away from the area and said that the incident is expected to continue for some time.
