Police arrest another child in Canterbury fire investigation

Police have arrested another child in connection with a fire in Canterbury.

Flames engulfed the old Debenhams store on the high street on Monday.

Local roads were closed and some residents of nearby properties were evacuated while the fire was extinguished.

On Wednesday evening (4 December), a 12 year old girl was arrested in connection with the incident and was later bailed pending further enquiries.

A 15 year old boy, who was arrested on Tuesday (3 December), was also bailed while enquiries continue.

A 15 year old boy from Ashford, who was arrested on Wednesday, was released without charge.

Officers continue to appeal to anyone with relevant information to come forward.
