Outrage at Warwickshire councillors over alleged SEND discrimination
Members of a children's scrutiny committee questioned the validity of diagnoses

There's been outrage, including from parents of children with Special Needs and Disabilites, over comments made at a committee meeting at Warwickshire County Council.
It follows a children and young people overview and scrutiny committee meeting, where increasing costs for special SEND services were discussed.
Councillors were heard questioning whether some SEND children are “just really badly behaved”.
Coventry mum, Krissie Edwards, says these comments are clear discrimination: "I'm surprised that these people still have their jobs, after the comments they've made.
"These comments are clear discrimination and they've shown themsleves to be very uneducated to speak about the subject that they are.
"They've offended the whole SEND community."
A spokesperson from Warwickshire County Council said: “The Council has received a number of complaints following comments made at the 25th January meeting of the Children and Young People OSC. The Council's Monitoring Officer is considering these complaints and it would be inappropriate to comment whilst that process is underway.”
