Murder probe launched after Norwich man dies from single stab wound

A police cordon remains at the scene as investigations are carried out

Norfolk Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally stabbed in Norwich.

Officers from the force were alerted to an ongoing incident at a property on Lefroy Road in the Mile Cross area on Saturday (September 21st).

When responders arrived at the scene shortly after 10:40pm, they found a man had suffered a single stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations began immediately, with forensic examinations of the area taking place; a police cordon currently remains in force.

Detectives from Norfolk Police have said they believe this is an isolated event and there is no wider threat to the public.

Speaking about the case, Detective Inspector David McCormack from the force, appealed for information on the attack.

"We are appealing for witnesses who have connections with the address to come forward and anyone who may have information or be aware of anything suspicious," he said.

"We appreciate the patience of the community while the police cordon still remains in place and investigations continue.

"We would urge anyone with information or is aware of anything suspicious to come forward and contact police."
