Murder investigation in Birmingham after man fatally stabbed

It happened on High Street in Kings Heath in the early hours.

A murder investigation has started after a man was fatally stabbed in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police were called to High Street in Kings Heath, near the junction with Queensbridge Road, just before 2.25am.

A man had suffered serious injuries, and despite the best efforts of emergency services, he was confirmed dead at the scene.

A cordon is currently in place, with High Street closed off, while officers carry out investigations.

A statement from police added: "We thank everyone for their patience while we do so."
