It's believed a missing mother and newborn baby who disappeared in Bolton are now more than 200 miles away in Essex.

Greater Manchester Police have released a CCTV image which they believe is a picture of Constance Marten and her child.

The image was taken outside Harwich Port, Essex at 9am on Saturday 7 January,

Constance and her partner Mark Gordon are missing with their newborn, after their vehicle broke down near junction four (Farnworth, Bolton) of the M61 on Thursday 5th January.

The family left the vehicle and the motorway safely – walking to the Anchor Lane bridge which links the Highfield and Little Hulton areas of Bolton.

Evidence suggests that Constance has very recently given birth and neither her or the baby have been assessed by medical professionals.

In a tweet on Saturday night, Greater Manchester Police said: "#UPDATE | We have released a new CCTV image of who we believe is Constance which was outside of Harwich Port in #Essex at 9am today.

"Our concern is make sure the Constance, Mark and baby are safe and well.
