A man has suffered burns in a suspected gas explosion at a home in Preston.

Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a home in Gillett Street in the town at 10.35pm last night (Saturday 2nd November).

The property involved has suffered significant damage and enquiries are continuing at the scene.

A small number of surrounding properties were evacuated.

A joint investigation will be launched in due course with our colleagues from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause and circumstances that led to the suspected gas explosion.
