Police say a man in his 50s has died after a tree fell on a car in Gloucestershire.

The emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the A433 Tetbury Road near the junction with the A429 yesterday at around 3.15pm to reports of a large fallen tree.

They tried to save the man from the Bath area but he died at the scene. Police say his next of kin have been informed.

The road, near Kemble, remains shut this morning (03/01) as police investigations continue.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to get in touch with police, quoting incident 276 of 2 January.

It's as Storm Henk is continuing to batter the West Country, with Tewkesbury especially badly hit by flooding.
