A man's died after being pulled from the River Soar in Leicester.

The man had been pulled from the water when emergency services arrived at Mill Lane around 7:30pm last night.

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Police say it's not believed there's any third party involvement.

Enquiries to establish how he came to enter the water are continuing.

Detective Sergeant Vicki Hudson from Leicestershire Police said:

“We would like to speak to anyone who saw a man in the area or who saw the man enter the water.

“Any information or footage you can provide, for example from a dashcam, could help our investigation.”
