Man charged over stabbing in Wigan town centre

A man has been charged over a stabbing in Wigan town centre.

Police found a man injured in Market Street on Thursday - but his condition's not thought to be life-threatening.

19 year old Esmaeel Mohammed from Avon Road in Wigan has been charged with the following offences:

• Robbery

• Section 18 wounding

• Burglary

• Possession of bladed article

• Affray

He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Saturday 20 July 2024.

A 30-year-old man who was also arrested at the scene has been bailed pending further investigations.
