A man has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications in connection with the search for Lancashire mum Nicola Bulley.

A 34-year-old man from Kidderminster was arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of malicious communications offences and perverting the course of justice.

It relates to footage that was taken from inside a police cordon close to the River Wyre on Sunday, February 19th - the day Nicola's body was found - which was subsequently posted online.

The man has since been bailed with conditions.

Police spent three-weeks looking for the missing mum-of-two before her body was discovered

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Our priority is, and has always been, to support Nicola’s family and the wider community in St Michael’s.

"We hope this arrest provides reassurance that we take concerns seriously and will act on them."

Nicola went missing in St Michael's on Wyre on 27 January, a three-week search then commenced before her body was eventually found and identified.

A full inquest into the death of Nicola Bulley is set to take place in June.
