Police have arrested a man after snacks containing drugs were found at a home in Wolverhampton.

Acting on intelligence about knives being advertised for sale, officers from the Heath Town and East Park team attended an address in Fordhouses yesterday afternoon (12 April).

They arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of the unlawful marketing of a knife.

During a search of the property, officers also seized a quantity of cannabis and recovered snack packets, plastic bags and mailing envelopes.

The man was further arrested on possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Police said cannabis-infused foods like crisps, cakes and sweets, known as edibles, are being sold by dealers as a way to pass on the drug to their customers.

Sgt Nicholas Clarke, of the Heath Town and East Park unit, said "We want parents to be aware of cannabis edibles.

"They look and smell like a normal shop-bought snacks and because of how they are packaged, they can be particularly appealing to young people and teenagers.

"Dealers who are doing this to target and exploit young people are not welcome in Wolverhampton, or the wider West Midlands, and action will be taken against them."
