A major search operation's taking place after a man went overboard off the coast of Suffolk.

We know several lifeboat crews and coastguard have been involved since reports came in at 10.30am this morning.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard has sent us this statement:

"HM Coastguard is coordinating the response to a report of a man overboard from a ship in waters off Southwold.

"The alarm was raised at about 10.30am today (Friday 16 June) lifeboats from Lowestoft, Harwich, Aldeburgh, Walton and Gorleston, two HM Coastguard fixed-wing aircraft, a fixed wing aircraft from the Netherlands and vessels in the vicinity are assisting the search."
