A man has pleaded not guilty to driving into crowds of fans during Liverpool's victory parade in May.

Paul Doyle, 53, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court via videolink from prison in regard to 31 offences on Thursday (September 4th).

The man entered not guilty pleas to all offences against him - including dangerous driving and affray.

He also denied 18 charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, as well as nine separate charges of causing grievous bodily harm with intent - on top of two counts of wounding with intent.

Appearing in court through videolink, Doyle could be seen wearing a grey T-shirt and a pair of glasses during the plea hearing.

At points, it is believed that the man was looking at papers as the various charges against Doyle were being read out to him, appearing to shake his head during the course of the hearing.

All allegations against him relate to offences inflicted on 29 different victims, with ages ranging between six months old and 77 years old.

In total, Merseyside Police said that 134 people were injured following the attack where a car drove into crowds on Water Street on May 26th.

Police allege that Doyle was behind the wheel as the car drove into fans who had come out to support Liverpool following their win in the Premier League.

Initially, Doyle was charged with just seven offences, but the remaining 24 counts were added following a hearing in August.
