Ipswich promoted to the Premier League
A 2-0 win has put them back in the Premier League for the first time since 2002
Ipswich are back in the Premier League for the first time in more than twenty years.
The Blues won 2-0 against Huddersfield - securing them automatic promotion to the top flight of English football.
It's the club's first return to the Premier League since they were relegated in 2002.
The Tractor Boys become just the fourth side in the Premier League era to secure consecutive promotions from the third tier after Watford, rivals Norwich and Southampton most recently in 2011-12.
The first half at Portman Road saw a goal from Wes Burns in the 27th minute, assisted by Conor Chaplin.
Just 3 minutes into the second half, came another goal from Omari Hutchinson, assisted by Sam Morsy.
It has been a record breaking season for the Blue's, after scoring the most goals in the division, and suffering the fewest defeats in their first season back in the second tier, having been promoted from League One last season.
Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna was also named EFL Championship Manager of the Season at the EFL Awards in London, beating Daniel Farke of Leeds United and Liam Rosenior of Hull City.
Finance expert Kieran Maguire, from the University of Liverpool tells us the move up will make a huge difference to the club: " They'll have earnt around £1.5 million from their TV deal being in League One - that will go up to well over £100 million in the Premier League
"Their shirt sponsorship, which was very lucrative because of the links to Ed Sheeran, but probably only worth a couple of hundred grand in League One will also increase.
"You'll be looking at somewhere in the region of £6-10 million for a front of shirt deal in the Premier League."
Kieran says it's not just the club that would benefit either - he expects the whole town will feel the benefit, particularly from tourism: "There'll be fantastic benefits for the town."
