The inquests into the deaths of four Shrewsbury teenagers who died after coming off the road in Gwynedd, North Wales, last November begin today.

Jevon Hirst, 16, Harvey Owen, 17, Wilf Fitchett, 17, and Hugo Morris, 18, were reported missing, leading to a huge search, before being found on 21 November. The Ford Fiesta they were in was upside down in a ditch, partially submerged in water.

Crystal Owen, Harvey's mum, told us: "Nobody ever thinks that this is going to happen to them. My 17 year old son certainly didn't think that when he got a lift with a mate.

"He had his whole life ahead of him so much promise, so many plans for the future and its just been wiped out in such a preventable way."

At the opening of the boys' inquests last year, the Coroner for North West Wales stated the provisional cause of their deaths was drowning.
