Hundreds protest at Manchester City Centre against NHS cuts
Protestors paraded across the city centre with flags, flyers and a live band

Protestors gathered today (26th February) at Manchester City Centre to March against NHS cuts.
They met at St. Peter’s square in front of Manchester’s Central Library.
Protestors held signs such as “can’t pay bills with applause” in reaction to the ‘clap for the NHS’ social movement during the global pandemic.
They also waved flags and posters, and handed out flyers to individuals at the city centre.
One protestor said: "We're demanding at least £20 billion immediately, to try and rebuild the NHS and make it safe so people don't die during this winter."
"There are not enough staff, there are not enough beds."
Many NHS workers attended the protest . One sign said: “Quality care, quality pay, we supported you through COVID, please support us to get fair pay!"
One student protestor from Manchester said: "The average waiting times for trans-related health care Is 2 years, but can be up to 12 in some places in the UK."
"They Scrapped the NHS nursing bursary, that made it financially impossible for so many students from poorer backgrounds to get qualified to work in our NHS."
"After all these cuts, we see fewer and fewer people applying for these NHS positions."
