Three people have died after a serious crash on the M25

A fourth person has life-threatening injuries after a collision near Waltham Abbey.

A serious crash involving a lorry, a minibus, and a car, on the M25 at Waltham Abbey has left three people dead.

Two air ambulance, nine road ambulances, a Hazardous Area Response Team, and police attended at around 6.15pm last night (Mon 23rd August).

Essex Police says the road will be closed in both directions with those in the area asked to follow the directions of officers on the ground.

Essex Fire and Rescue service were also in attendance.

They say there were called at around 18:22 this evening to reports of a crash involving a lorry, a minibus, and a car between junctions 27 and 26.

Incident Commander Richie Green said: "Our crews worked extremely hard in a difficult and dynamic situation. We thank the public for their patience while we worked with other emergency services to make the scene safe."

Essex Police has urged pedestrians to stay out of live lanes so all emergency services can carry out crucial work at the scene.
