Police in North Wales say they have given "strong words of advice" to a driver stopped in Wrexham, with festive Christmas tree lights on his car.

On Facebook, officers explained that it is "not legal" and "not safe", as it distracts other road users.

They also warned that it could cause injury to other road users.

The post added: "We had to be a bit of a Grinch when we spoke with this driver kindly asking him to remove the few hours work he spent decorating his vehicle.

"Enjoy the festive period but please keep the decorations on your tree next time."
