The trial of a Chelmsford man accused of assaulting Professor Chris Whitty in a London park is expected to start today.

24 year-old Jonathan Chew from Parklands Way denied assault by beating and obstructing police constable Steven Ozden.

An investigation was launched by police after Prof. Chris Whitty was accosted in St James' Park in central London on Sunday 27th June 2021.
