It's not a job for the faint-hearted.

Workers have scaled the spire of Salisbury Cathedral to change the four aircraft warning lights.

Gary Price, clerk of works at the cathedral and conservator Arthur Needham, braved the climb to the top of the 404ft (123m) spire.

They spent two hours at the top to change the bulbs and check other parts such as the copper strips protecting the cathedral from lightning strikes.

The work needs to be done once every four years.
