A person has been seriously injured after a car plunged into water in Dartmouth.

Emergency services were called to the South Embankment at 8.40am this morning (Sunday 10th November) to reports that a car had plunged into the water opposite the Dartmouth Lifeboat Centre.

Devon and Cornwall Police say the embankment area has been closed and cordons are expected to be in place for much of the day.

They're asking the public to avoid the area at this time.
