A 16-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Salford.

Police were called to Higher Croft, Eccles at around 2:30pm on Sunday, where a cordon remains in place.

The victim is thought to have been hurt in the arm, with his injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers' initial enquiries suggest the teenage boy was on his motorbike when two men, also on a motorbike, approached and fired a gun.
