London fire services attending large fire at apartment in Blackwall
Over seventy firefighters are currently attending hoping to put the fire out

London fire services are attending a large fire in the Blackwall area of the capital.
Officers were alerted to a fire taking place at the 45-storey Biscayne Avenue skyscraper in the early hours of Monday afternoon (August 26th).
The current cause of the fire is unknown as firefighters try to extinguish the fire, which took hold in a skyscraper in the central London district.
Eyewitnesses said that glass from the building was falling from the ceiling, creating a danger for those in the area.
As well as this it was reported that an apartment was "engulfed" in flames as the cladding began to fall off the skyscraper.
According to the London Fire Brigade when the reports were first made, ten fire engines and seventy firefighters were in attendance trying to put the fire out.
A total of over 100 calls were made to the brigade alerting them to the fire. Crews from Millwall, Plaistow and Shadwell were in attendance, as well as those from "surrounding fire stations".
A later update confirmed that half of the flat, which was situated on the 25th floor of the building was light.
The fire was eventually brought under control by 3pm on Monday afternoon. However, officers have urged that people avoid the area of Biscayne Avenue where possible.
