How to watch The Teacher as series 2 hits our TV screens

Following the success of series one back in 2022, starring Sheridan Smith and Kelvin Fletcher, Channel 5 bosses were quick to renew drama series The Teacher, and now the show has finally landed.
With a brand new cast made-up of the likes of Kara Tointon, Will Mellor and Emmett J Scanlan, series two was filmed earlier this year and fans can't wait to watch all four episodes as Kara takes over the main role from Sheridan.
What is The Teacher?
The Teacher is a drama series which airs on Channel 5. Whilst series one aired in January 2022, series two is now set for release on Monday 9th September.
Series one saw actress Sheridan Smith play a school teacher called Jenna Garvey, who was later accused of having sex with one of her 15-year-old pupils, following a drunken night out on the town.
Series two will see Kara Tointon's character Dani have an impulsive affair with a work colleague (Will Mellor), which spirals out of control and takes a sinister twist.
The series two synopsis reads: 'The Teacher II follows the story of Dani, a teacher who loves her job. She's a real mentor and inspiration to her students, but what she lacks is a properly functioning marriage with real intimacy and mutual desire."
'This leads her into an impulsive affair with a fellow colleague that at first answers all her needs, but soon spirals out of control. When a pupil goes missing on a school trip, Dani rightly blames herself for being too easily distracted.'
'When things start to take a sinister turn, she is forced to lie, and quickly finds her life falling to pieces. She risks everything to right the wrongs that she has, in part, been responsible for'.
When is it on TV?
The Teacher series two started at 9pm on Monday 9th September, with episodes airing on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th.
What channel is it on?
Fans can watch the series on Channel 5.
All episodes will be available on My5 after at 10pm on Thursday 12th September.
Who is in the cast?
Former EastEnders actress Kara Tointon plays the lead role of art teacher Dani, with Kara saying: "She's been in her marriage since she was quite young, a relationship from her university days.
"The part was interesting for me because I've never really played a role where people might instantly take a disliking to my character. Not because of anything in her personality - she's not evil, but you question her choices.
"I've never played anyone so controversially naughty."
Mr Bates vs The Post Office star Will Mellor plays fellow teacher Jimmy, whilst Fool Me Once actor Emmett J Scanlan will play the role of Dani's husband Tim.
How many episodes?
Just like the first series, the second instalment is made up of four episodes.

After the Flood (ITVX and STV Player)
Landing on ITV/STV in the first few weeks of January 2024, After the Flood stars Peaky Blinders actress Sophie Rundle as PC Joanna Marshall. The six-part series follows Joanna leading an investigation after she finds an identified man dead in a lift in a underground car park after a devastating flood.
Trigger Point (ITVX and STV Player)
Vicky McClure plays the role of EXPO officer Lana Washington in high octane drama Trigger Point. All six episodes from series one are available to watch now, with series two also now out on ITVX and STV Player.
Blue Lights (BBC iPlayer)
Set and filmed in Northern Ireland, Blue Lights follows three rookie police officers working in Belfast. All episodes of series one are available to stream, as is series two which was released in April 2024.
The Long Shadow (ITVX and STV Player)
The Long Shadow follows the five-year manhunt for the serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, commonly referred to as The Yorkshire Ripper. The seven-part drama stars the likes of Katherine Kelly, Charley Webb, Mark Stobbart, Liz White and Toby Jones.
