The Great British Bake Off: A recap of the 2022 series
Syabira was crowned the 2022 winner!
After launching on Tuesday 13th September, the 2022 series of The Great British Bake Off ended during the tense final on Tuesday 15th November, where judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood chose their winner.

Who won The Great British Bake Off in 2022?
32-year-old Cardiovascular Research Associate Syabira was crowned the 2022 winner of The Great British Bake Off during the final on Tuesday 15th November.
Speaking after her victory, Syabira said: "I can't believe it...this is the biggest achievement in my life."
Judge Paul Hollywood then said: "Syabira can be a bit of a risk taker with her flavours and it's worked."
Prue Leith added: "She's creative, she's careful, she practices like anything and she's imaginative. She just has the lot. She is a very skilful baker."
Who took part in The Great British Bake Off in 2022?
12 amateur bakers attempted to avoid soggy bottoms and master the crumb structure as they attempted to follow in the footsteps of previous winners such as Candice Brown, Nadiya Hussain, and last year's winner Giuseppe Dell'Anno.
The 2022 cast was made-up of a 59-year-old supermarket cashier, an 18-year-old student, and a 25-year-old nuclear scientist.

When did Bake Off 2022 start?

Who hosted Bake Off in 2022?
Comedians Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding once again hosted the 2022 series. Fans have loved their partnership and witty humour since they took over 2020.
However, Matt won't be back for the next series, as he announced in December 2022 he'd decided to quit the show due to other work commitments. In a statement, he said: 'Farewell Bake Off! It's been a delicious experience and I can't imagine a more fun way of spending my summers. But it's become clear to me that I can't present both Fantasy Football League and Bake Off alongside all my other projects.
'So, after three series and 51 episodes, I am cheerfully passing the baguette on to someone else.
'I would like to give my warmest thanks and gratitude to everyone at Love Productions and Channel 4 and to Noelipops, Paul, Dame Prue, the crew and, of course, the wonderful bakers for welcoming me into the tent.
'I wish whoever takes over the very best and I can't wait to tune into the next series without already knowing who won!' (sic)
