Hollyoaks bosses seem to be shaking things up in the cast at the moment, not only is Stephanie Davis returning to the soap, a number of new faces are set to land in the village, and now it's been confirmed that actor Stuart Manning will return as his character Russ Owen.

Russ, who was extremely popular with fans between 2004-2009, will return to the soap in the summer after nine years away from the Hollyoaks village.

The 39-year-old had a number of high profile storylines during his time on the soap, not only did he battle cancer, become a teacher and have a brief marriage to Mercedes McQueen, Stuart's character Ross was also romantically involved with Sophie Burton and Tina Reilly.

Russ was last seen in the village when he kidnapped his son Max, following the tragic death of his mother Tina.

Speaking about his return, Stuart said, "After a decade away from Hollyoaks, it felt like the right time to come back and particularly when the show is on such a high.

"It will be really interesting for me to explore how the character of Russ has evolved and to return as a different actor to who I was back then."

And it seems fans of the Channel 4 soap are very excited about Stuart's return, with many taking to Twitter...
