After eight thrilling weeks, the fourth series of hit BBC show Race Across The World concludes on Wednesday 29th May, as Alfie and Owen, Betty and James, Stephen and Viv, and Eugenie and Isabel race to get to the finish line to win a huge ÂŁ20,000.

As viewers have been hooked on the journeys of the contestants over the last two months, BBC bosses have now announced the first ever behind-the-scenes show, which will air immediately after Wednesday night's final.

Announcing the news on social media, bosses shared a clip from the behind-the-scenes show, writing: 'For the first time ever, we're showing you how the race comes to life! đź‘€

'See what happens behind the scenes in the #RaceAcrossTheWorld reunion, Wednesday at 10pm on BBC iPlayer, straight after the grand finale! 🤩'. (sic)

Fans were quick to comment on the post, expressing their interest in what it takes to plan the series.

One wrote: 'This series really got me thinking about the planning that goes into it. Must be months of researchers checking routes, finding suitable places for “work”, accessibility of accommodation, etc'. (sic)

Another wrote: 'I love this show and am equally interested in what goes on behind the scenes, from an education view point it's great for kids to see the skill and hard work involved, the editing alone with all the footage to go through is mind-boggling! More please'. (sic)

A third added: 'This programme is one of my favourites ever created', with another writing: 'Always been interested about this'. (sic)
