Love Island's Leanne calls Mike a 'game player' after shock dumping

Rewind back to last week and Love Island 2020 stars Mike Boateng and Leanne Amaning looked like they'd become the first official couple of this year's series, but things took a serious sour turn when Leanne ended things admitting everything he does 'annoys her'.

After Leanne pulled the former police officer for a chat earlier in the week, things didn't work in her favour as bosses later announced another recoupling would take place, following the arrival of new bombshells Wallace Wilson and Demi Jones.

Then, in a major twist, Mike expressed his interest in Sophie Piper, despite her former flame Connor Durham admitting he's waiting for her on the outside.

So, when the Islanders were made aware of the shock recoupling during a party in the villa, both Sophie and Leanne more or less begged Mike and nation's sweetheart Nas Majeed to save them...

Unfortunately for Leanne, Mike chose to couple up with Sophie, in turn sending the 22-year-old customer service advisor home.

Following her shock dumping, Leanne spoke to producers, where she revealed she thinks Mike could be 'playing a game'.

She said, "Me and Mike, we didn’t work. I feel he’s justified in what he did by picking Sophie. That’s a big thing to do – it’s a bold move to make.

“But I feel like he’s disregarded the two weeks we spent together and I feel like sending me home was a bit of a kick in the teeth, but it might also be my karma for dumping him… Beforehand, we had a good connection as friends, I would have thought he would have had that loyalty with me more. But he can crack on and I’m happy for him, I want him to be happy.”

When asked if she thinks anybody is playing a game, Leanne added, “Maybe Mike now… it’ll be easier for him to crack on and do his thing without me there.”

However, despite Mike choosing Sophie over her, it seems Leanne doesn't think anything romantically is going to work out between the two. She added, “Oh, be serious… There’s absolutely no way! I think they’re just good friends and they’re in a friendship couple.”

Leanne become the fourth Islander to be dumped from the 2020 Winter series. As well as Ollie Williams quitting the show to get back with this ex, Eve Gale, Connagh Howard and Connor Durham have all been dumped from the Island.
