The Great British Bake Off star Candice Brown has revealed that she's a MASSIVE fan of Love Island. But not only is she a huge fan of the show, she's actually got a secret connection to it now that the four new people have entered the villa.

Candice, who won the 2016 series of the beloved baking show, took to Twitter yesterday (16th July) to reveal that she knows one of the contestants quite well - and had even taught her in her previous career as a PE teacher!

The 33-year-old revealed that she'd taught newbie Stephanie Lam back in the day, writing, 'Yasss girl!! Hot as hell, smart cookie and gonna shake things up!! Think it’s coz she had a great teacher (Yes I taught her, yes I feel old, but yes she’s smart coz of me) enjoy beautiful lady.’ sic

She tweeted again, having to confirm that she was, of course, joking in her original tweet, writing, 'To clarify this is a giggle- I taught Stephanie when I was training to be a teacher- she’s defo not smart because of me (yes I am being sarcastic in my original tweet!) taught her a little bit of PE! Am showing support because that’s nice to do #girlpower.' sic

Stephanie, from Hertfordshire, revealed before she entered the Love Island villa that she'd previously dated last year's contestant Chris Hughes, saying that they had "dated as friends."

She said, "I’m friends with Chris Hughes from last year’s series. We got friendly this year and have been on a mates’ date but we’re just friends."

However, it's now being reported that they were more than friends, and dated for six months on and off before he went on the show last year!
