The new Love Island villa is the SAME used in Miley Cyrus' Black Mirror episode

Winter Love Island will be filmed in South Africa

Whilst Love Island usually takes place on the sunny island of Mallorca, the 2020 Winter series will be filmed in Cape Town, South Africa, due to poor weather conditions in Spain at this time of year.

So, with that in mind, fans of the popular show, which begins on Sunday 12th January, have been patiently waiting to see what the brand-spanking new villa will look like.

Well, with just days to go ahead of the launch show with new host Laura Whitmore, the Mail Online are reporting that the villa is the SAME villa used in Netflix show Black Mirror, which featured American singer Miley Cyrus.

If you watched Miley's episode of the hit show last year, you'll be aware that her character Ashley O was imprisoned in the villa by her aunt and manager Catherine, in the episode titled 'Rachel, Jack & Ashley Too'.

Now, according to reports, the fancy villa, which is worth around £5.3 million, has been transformed for 2020 Islanders to live in over the next couple of months.

Despite the new reports, ITV bosses are yet to reveal any photos of the fancy villa, so we can't wait to see it on our screens!

Meanwhile, earlier this week 12 Islanders were confirmed for the 2020 series, including Lewis Capaldi's ex Paige Turley, Rochelle Humes' sister Sophie Piper, and a set of twins called Eve and Jess Gale.

It's being reported that bosses have a few security concerns with the show being filmed in South Africa. According to the Daily Star, the villa will be guarded by armed security...

A TV insider told the publication, Producers aren’t taking any chances. It’s been arranged for armed guards to patrol the compound throughout the series. They will have them surrounding the area so there is no chance of any breaches...

"If it’s known to everyone in the area that a big TV show is in town, then it will become a target. There are concerns there could be kidnap attempts if things aren’t done carefully."
