It's been a dramatic eight weeks as this year's 39 Islanders have served the drama during series 11 of Love Island! With love, break-ups, make-ups, and even the first ever celebrity bombshell in the form of Joey Essex, the popular dating show came to an end tonight (Monday 29th July), as host Maya Jama confirmed the results of the public vote to crown this year's Queen and King of the villa.

Before the final results were announced, the 90-minute long episode showed finalists Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan, Matilda Draper and Sean Stone, and Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya, enjoy an epic final meal together, as well as performing their emotional declarations of love around the banquet table.

Who won Love Island 2024?

Following a public vote on the official Love Island app, Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan were crowned the 2024 winners of Love Island.

Check out the final placings below:

WINNERS: Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan

2ND PLACE: Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies

3RD PLACE: Matilda Draper and Sean Stone

4TH PLACE: Jessica Spencer and Ayo Odukoya

Speaking after their shock victory, Mimii said: "It feels so surreal, I don’t even have words right now to describe it. I want to thank everyone for all the love, it was the best time of my life."

Josh added: "Crazy man. It still hasn’t even sunk in. I’m happy and thankful, and appreciating the love and support we got. We had such an authentic connection and I’m glad everyone saw it."

Mimii and Josh made history with their victory, becoming the first ever black couple to win the show, which has now had 11 series.

Reacting to the news, Mimii said: "I’m so shocked about it. It’s nice. Hopefully it will set pace for more diverse representation. It’s overwhelming, but in the best possible way."

Josh also added: "I definitely feel proud. To be able to add a little bit to help balance the scales, if it means greater diverse representation, that is great. We are just happy to write history."

With the pair coupling up just weeks before their victory, it sounds like Mimii and Josh have plans to date further when they land back in the UK.

Speaking about what is next, Mimii said: "Probably exploring different places, going to the theatre, museums."

Josh added: "Similar things but there are a few restaurants I want to take her to. Also to find our dynamic outside the Villa and get used to that, that’s what I’m looking forward to."

It's safe to say this year's series certainly kept fans entertained over the last eight weeks, with bosses pulling out all of the stops in an attempt to increase viewing figures.

After 12 Islanders entered the villa on Day One, fans were left in shock when former TOWIE star Joey Essex made a shock entrance into the villa, becoming the show's first ever celebrity bombshell.

It didn't take long for 34-year-old Joey to cause a stir, immediately sending home Sam Taylor after deciding to steal Samantha Kenny. Joey then went on to date his ex Grace Jackson in the series, before being dumped just one day before the final with Jessy Potts.

Whilst Welsh contestants Nicole and Ciaran haven't looked back since being paired on Day One, it was an eventful few weeks for both Mimii and Ayo, who were originally coupled up.... Before Casa Amor hit.

Despite Mimii staying loyal, Ayo chose to get to know Casa bombshell Jessica, leaving both the viewers and his fellow Islanders in shock. And despite many thinking Mimii and Ayo would reunite at some point, with even Ayo's brother confessing he thinks Mimii is a better suit for him, he remained with Jessica and made it all the way to the final.

Mimii also seemingly found happiness with bombshell Josh, who entered the show with just weeks to go alongside Reuben Collins.

Series 11 was also a bit of a whirlwind for Matilda and Sean, with Casa also rocking their relationship, after Sean kissed bombshell Diamanté. Despite Movie Night causing more issues, the pair were able to work things out, with Sean's sweet talk seemingly winning Matilda back over.

Although the latest series is now over, fans will be pleased to know the All Stars series has already been renewed for a second instalment, with the show set to return to South Africa in January 2025.

Announcing the news on social media at the end of May, the post simply read: 'All Stars 🤝 Series 2 #LoveIsland'.

It hasn't yet been announced which former Islanders will return for series two.
