The countdown is on, Love Island 2018 officially hits our TV screens on Monday 4th June, with fans super excited ahead of its return! But it looks like we won't be seeing any classic smoking area arguments this year, as bosses have enforced a major new rule.

Whilst contestants from series one, two and three of Love Island have all been allowed to smoke in the designated outdoor smoking area, whenever they fancied, new reports are suggesting that due to a high volume of complaints from viewers, this has now been banned.

According to reports, if this year's Islanders want to smoke, they will have to go alone in the designated smoking area, which will be limited for filming. A source told Digital Spy, "There will be no smoking within the Love Island villa or the main villa garden this year."

Bosses have enforced the new rule due to a high number of complaints from viewers during last year's series, which saw almost every contestant on the show smoking at some point.

During the 2016 series, winner Nathan Massey was made aware of his dad's unhappiness at the sight of seeing him smoking. When Nathan's mum and auntie arrived in the villa during the last week, Nathan's mum revealed that his dad doesn't care about the 'sex', but is concerned about him 'smoking'.

Now see which couples from Love Island one, two and three are still going strong:

Series One: Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison

The only surviving couple from Love Island series one is Cally Jane Beech and Luis Morrison.

After finding love on the show, Cally and Luis announced they were expecting their first child together and later welcomed their daughter Vienna Morrison-Beech.
