Lockdown may be easing but with soaps filmed weeks in advanced, we'll still be getting corona-era episodes for a while yet.

And with Hollyoaks and EastEnders choosing to show old favourites and Corrie banning kissing and older actors on set, Emmerdale went down a different route, filming favourite characters in lockdown with cast and crew observing strict social distancing measures.

Last week saw the return of mother and son duo Mandy and Vinny Dingle, who discuss Vinny's dad, Paul Ashadale's recent arrival in the village, and Mandy divulges the dark secret that kept them apart.

Paddy and Chas also feature this week

Meanwhile, Jimmy and Nicola King are struggling to see eye-to-eye and tensions are high as Nicola wonders what this might mean for their marriage.

And this week, Paddy Kirk and Chas Dingle will also be looking back at their relationship and toward their future, while Elliot Chapman confronts dad Al about why he was never a real father growing up.

CHECK OUT: Emmerdale spoilers Monday 22 - Friday 26 June:

With the pub still closed and Chas feeling more detached from her normal life by the day, she's left feeling unsupported by Paddy, who's been hitting the booze nightly.

But though he's been in high spirits, Paddy's drinking is an effort to dull his anxiety about getting things back on track between them.

An emotional Clap for Our Carers one Thursday has Chas welling up and Paddy reflecting on their history together, determined to make big plans for their future.

Marlon finds himself having to quarantine in another house due to plumbing issues at his, separated from April and Leo who are elsewhere in the village.

Stuck at Tall Trees with Ellis, Marlon is irked when Ellis invites his dad Al to stay with them since he has nowhere else to go.

Tensions flare over Al and Marlon's wildly different parenting styles, and the two are at each others' throats more than once.

Meanwhile, Ellis has his own issues with his father and locked down together, Ellis takes the opportunity to confront Al about why he was never there for him growing up. What will he say?

Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas, said, "We were planning to do these lockdown episodes before we even went into lockdown, as we wanted to create these two hander episodes to show what life would be like in lockdown for some of the characters in the village.

"But then due to timing they didn’t happen because we actually did all go into lockdown more quickly so filming was stopped. So when I heard they were going to happen I wasn’t surprised as I had expected they would at some point. It's good they are and we will get to see a close up perspective of some different situations and what their life under lockdown has been like. It feels like the perfect opportunity and I was very happy to be involved."

And Dominic Brunt, who plays Paddy, added, "The whole building and way of working is totally different and will be for the foreseeable future, until this danger passes. Smaller crew, smaller cast, we will be doing our own hair (I have none so I’m lucky this time) and make up. Social distancing will be paramount."
