Following the recent release of a clip of Ed Sheeran playing the part of Lisa's love interest in The Simpsons, we thought we'd take a look at other celebrities who have voiced animated characters.

We all know that Tom Hanks voiced Woody in Toy Story and Cameron Diaz leant her voice to Princess Fiona in Shrek, but did you know that Vin Diesel was The Iron Giant in the film of the same name, or Bruce Willis was Spike from The Rugrats Movie?

Here are seven celebrities you probably didn't know voiced animated characters:

1. Vin Diesel - The Iron Giant

It seems Vin Diesel hasn't always been out racing cars and fighting aliens, he spent some time in the studio too voicing The Iron Giant in the 1999 film of the same name.

2. Bruce Willis - Spike from The Rugrats Movie

Bruce Willis has starred in countless films, including playing John McClane in the popular Christmas film Die Hard. However, one little-known part Bruce has had is a small animated dog in The Rugrats Movie.

3. Fergie - Sally Brown from Peanuts

We know her as the former Black Eyed Peas, and solo singer Fergie, but did you know the 'Big Girls Don't Cry' singer was friends with Snoopy, playing the part of Sally Brown in the TV show?

4. Michael Clarke Duncan - Tug from Brother Bear

Although he played an alleged criminal in the 1999 The Green Mile, we all knew Michael was just a big cuddly bear really as he played the part of Tug in Brother Bear. He also had parts in Kung Fu Panda and Green Lantern.

5. Haley Joel Osment – Chip from Beauty and the Beast

Turns out before he started talking to dead people in The Sixth Sense, Haley voiced the lovable Chip in Beauty and the Beast!

6. Tim Curry - Nigel Thornberry from the Wild Thornberries

The well-known actor who is at home on the big screen, as much as he is on the stage, has played a number of parts in animations, but did you know he also took on the part of Nigel Thornberry from the Wild Thornberries?

7. J.K. Simmons – Yellow M&M

J.K. grabbed himself an Oscar for his performance in Whiplash, however the film is rather different if you imagine him wearing his shell of a yellow M&M!
