Big Brother confirm an exciting launch twist
The new series starts tonight
Channel 5 confirmed today there would be an exciting twist to the launch of this year's Big Brother.
Last week there was much speculation that with the General Election looming Big Brother would allow the public to vote which contestants could enter the house, but that is not entirely correct.
Channel 5 have now confirmed that only one housemate will be voted in by the public. This person will become the People's Housemate and this will give them 'great power within the house', as well as giving them 'access to the outside world', something that has never been done before.
So far only six of the potential housemates have been revealed which include 28-year-old Lotan Carter, who is a stripper, and Kayleigh from Wales who has previously appeared on MTV's Ex On The Beach. There are also two pairs, sisters: Hannah and Deborah Agboola from London, and husband and wife duo, Imran and Sukhvinder Javeed, although it is not clear yet if they will compete as one or two housemates.
Earlier today fans were also given a sneak peak at the new Diary Room and chair. Fitting with the British village theme previously announced the Diary Room has a backdrop of a 'typical' British countryside with rolling hills and a dry stone wall. The infamous chair itself is love-seat sized and covered in a pink and green floral pattern and wouldn't look out of place in a quaint British country pub.

Last week photos of the new house were released which showed off a British village theme, with the show dubbing the new series as 'The United Kingdom of Big Brother' with contestants from all walks of life as the trailer from the week before confirmed.
