Zayn Malik to duet with Bridgerton star for upcoming animated film
The singer also stars in the film and has written music for it
Following Zayn Malik's return to music earlier this year with 'Love Like This', it was revealed that Zayn was involved with a new animated film with Bridgerton's Simone Ashley.
Now the former One Direction singer has revealed the pair will duet on a song for the film, which the pair also star in, lending their voices to several characters. The film, called 10 Lives also sees Zayn writing music for the new release.
Speaking to Variety, Zayn explained about creating the music for film: "I always enjoy my time in the studio creating from my perspective," he said. "While creating music for 10 Lives, I was able to immerse myself in a narrative that I hadnāt dictated and able to bring the charactersā emotions into the music rather than my own.
"I really enjoyed writing specifically to bring them all to life. Itās a film thatās not only fun to watch but has a very beautiful sentiment for people of all ages. I hope people love it, and the music we created really connects and transports them deeper into the 10 Lives world."
Who stars in 10 Lives?
Back in the summer it was revealed that Zayn would be appearing in 10 Lives alongside Bridgerton's Simone Ashley, who plays Kathani 'Kate' Sharma/Bridgerton, Bill Nighy, Mo Gilligan, Sophie Okonedo, Dylan Llewellyn and Jeremy Swift.
What is 10 Lives about?
The description of the film reads: '10 Lives is the story of a pampered & selfish cat who takes for granted the lives he has been dealt. After carelessly losing his ninth life he begs to be given a second chance, an opportunity to show he can learn from his mistakes.
'Eventually his wish is granted, but with certain stipulationsā¦', and earlier this month it was confirmed by the production company GRM Animation that Zayn had written and performed original songs for the new production.
The singer is also the film's executive music producer and oversees the film's music.
What role does Zayn play in 10 Lives?
In the film, Zayn plays the role of two characters, described as 'the hilariously good hearted tough-guy twins', while Simone plays the female lead role of Dr Rose Everhart who comes across a stray kitten which she takes to an animal shelter.
Back in the music world, Zayn is currently working on his next album, which his latest song 'Love Like This' is featured on.
