NHS staff have come together with a number of very well-known celebrities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the NHS, and raise money for charity with a new single. 'With a Little Help from My Friends' will be released tomorrow (6th July) and is available to preorder now.
Ranging from children’s doctors and physiotherapists, to IT experts and midwives, staff from all over the NHS have come together at the legendary Abbey Road Studios along with a number of celebrities including Alexandra Burke, Beverley Knight, Gabrielle, Louisa Johnson, Seal, Danny Jones and Una Healy.
Behind the new production is BRIT Award-winning and GRAMMY nominated producer Jon Cohen and the American superstar Timbaland, who have created a fantastic cover of the Beatles classic.
The project was started by Joe Blunden who is an NHS communications professional and children’s doctor, Dr Katie Rogerson. Speaking about the project Joe said, “We see how hard NHS staff work every single day, and wanted to create something that would show them all just how appreciated they are. Everyone involved has been so generous with their time, and their talent, and we can’t thank them enough.”
All the proceeds raised from the sale of 'With a Little Help from My Friends' will go to NHS Charities Together which is a group of more than 130 NHS charities supporting patients, staff and community initiatives across the country.
The announcement of this new single comes on the 70th anniversary of the NHS.
