Actor Channing Tatum has confirmed that there is a third Magic Mike film on its way, and he will reprise his role as the iconic lead character.

Channing teased the third film by posting a photo of the script, which will follow on from Magic Mike (2012) and its first sequel Magic Mike XXL (2015). According to the script, the film will be titled Magic Mike’s Last Dance and has been written by Reid Carolin.

He captioned the post: ‘Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in.

‘Let’s go!!’

Fans of the film franchise quickly flocked to the comments to express their excitement at the news, with one commenting: ‘I’m shaking!’

Another said: ‘OMG omg omg omg yes!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉'

One more wrote: ‘Omg I never have been so excited in my life. Can’t wait to 👀.’

Just in case you hadn’t yet watched the films (you definitely should), the original Magic Mike tells the story of 19-year-old Adam who enters the world of male stripping in order to pay bills and start a business of his own. He is guided by Mike Lane who is very experienced in the male stripping world.

Despite Mike taking a break from stripping in the first film, he returned in its 2015 sequel Magic Mike XXL.

According to Deadline, the first two films grossed almost $300 million worldwide and went on to inspire successful stage show Magic Mike Live, which Channing himself directed.
