Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirm they are expecting first baby

Prince Harry married American actress Meghan Markle at a stunning ceremony at St George's Chapel back in May 2018, and now the Royal couple have announced they are extending their family, revealing that Meghan is pregnant!

The news was announced on Twitter, with Kensington Palace tweeting, 'Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.'

After months of speculation, Prince Harry and former Suits actress Meghan confirmed their engagement on the 27th November 2017. Following the news, they posed for a photo call in Kensington Gardens and gave a televised interview with Mishal Husain.

Then, the wedding of the year took place in May this year, with the happy couple tying the knot at St George's Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle, with over 150,000 people lining the streets to celebrate.

As well as the Royal family, a number of celebrities attended the big day, including David and Victoria Beckham, George and Amal Clooney, and James Corden.

Since the wedding in May, the newly named the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have travelled the world on Royal engagements.

Meanwhile, the couple's first child won't be their only new arrival. Back in September, it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan had welcomed a pet dog into their family home.

According to Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, the couple adopted a black labrador who they have named 'Oz'. It's not yet clear why the couple have chosen the unusual name of their new pet.

Speaking about the new addition to the Royal household, a source told MailOnline, "The dog is already happily ensconced at their cottage. Like the Sussexes, the dog will divide its time between the palace and their country home in the Cotswolds."
