Lewis Capaldi gives HILARIOUS BRITs speech about inspiration for 'Someone You Loved'

And it's not Paige from Love Island!

If you've been watching the 2020 series of Love Island, you've probably heard Islander Paige Turley talk about the fact she's Lewis Capaldi's ex, with the reality star even claiming his massive hit single 'Someone You Loved' is actually about her.

But now, as he took to the stage at The BRIT Awards 2020 with MasterCard to pick up his second award of the night for Song of the Year, Lewis shut down the claims, admitting the popular song is actually about his late grandmother.

After revealing the news, Lewis then jokingly said, "I really hope ITV don't contact her for a reality dating show."

It comes just weeks after Lewis broke his silence about Paige's appearance on the Winter series of Love Island.

Speaking on a show in New Zealand called The Edge, Lewis joked, "The prize is like £50,000 and I'll be like 'Well, listen. They asked you to go on it right I'm not saying I'm the reason but also… slide me two grand'."

He then added, "She never told me she was going on it. That would have been a nice heads up. But fair play and good luck to her."
