He seemed pretty adamant he wasn't the father to Stephanie Davis' baby, but now Jeremy McConnell has taken a live DNA test on This Morning.
Appearing on the show with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Jeremy said this was the last time he would talk about the situation and revealed it was 'very upsetting'.
He said, "It shouldn't be done like this, but it has to be dealt with when something is so public. It's upsetting, I just want it sorted."
When Phillip asked the model if he would like to be the dad, Jeremy replied, "Yeah of course, I'll step up to the plate."
After hearing Stephanie say he was 'banned' from the birth in an interview, Jeremy said he didn't feel like he was welcome at the birth and said he would have been there if he'd been allowed.
This Morning then showed footage from earlier in the day of Jeremy undergoing a DNA test.
As the interview went on, Jeremy also admitted he'd been unfaithful to Stephanie during their turbulent relationship in 2016. Holding his hands up to his infidelity, Jeremy said he takes full responsibility for his actions.
Watch the interview below:
It comes just a day after the former Celebrity Big Brother star spoke to a national newspaper admitting he can see similarities with little Caben-Albi, and also revealed he never said the baby wasn't his.
He said, "I do believe I am the father. I want the baby to be mine, I can see a resemblance.
"I never said the baby wasn’t mine, all I said was that there was a doubt because she was with other men in the first two weeks of April.
“Before we went to Cape Verde, we were broken up for two weeks and I have no idea who she was sleeping with then."
Jeremy also revealed his delight when Stephanie first told him she was expecting a baby. He said, “I was delighted. I was buzzing. I told her I loved her and I would be there for her. My initial reaction was to go straight to her… but I didn’t.
He then added, “Maybe I regret it a little now, but I know I’ve done the right thing."
Admitting he 'stayed quiet' throughout her pregnancy to avoid Stephanie any stress, Jeremy said he would be 'delighted' if he was the dad and would 100% step up.
However now the baby has been born, Jeremy hasn't held back in criticising his ex-girlfriend. Revealing he thinks Stephanie is lapping up the sympathy, he said, "She’s getting a TV show out of it, she’s taking the baby on a free holiday, she’s got her OK! deals, her magazine spreads… I just think it’s horrible parading him around."
He then finished with saying he thinks Stephanie doesn't want him around at all because he sees messages about 'me and the baby' and believes the former Hollyoaks actress is 'living off' him and Caben-Albi.
Meanwhile, Stephanie is continuing to keep her fans up to date with her son's progress. Just last night she shared an adorable snap of the little one to her Instagram page.
At the time this article was created, Stephanie is yet to respond or comment on Jeremy's interview on This Morning.
