Iain Stirling shares heartbreaking tribute to Caroline Flack after her funeral
Caroline's funeral took place on Tuesday 10th March
Following her tragic death on Saturday 15th February, Caroline Flack's closest friends and family attended her funeral yesterday (Tuesday 10th March), which took place in a private ceremony.
After attending the heartbreaking ceremony, Caroline's close friend and Love Island co-host Iain Stirling paid tribute to the 40-year-old, admitting she would have 'hated' missing it.
Sharing a number of photos of the pair together on his Instagram page, Iain told his followers, 'Yesterday we said goodbye to Caroline. It was a small services filled with her friends and family. The day was spent sharing stories, singing songs and of course some tears were shed. As someone who had the worst FOMO in the world I know Carrie would have hated missing it. And her infectious laugh was painfully absent. You were so loved Caz, by so many - I hope you knew that. And I hope you’re now at peace. X'. (sic)
His post was quickly met with supportive comments, from both friends and fans of the famous voice over. Whilst many former Love Island stars, including Maura Higgins, Nathan Massey and Olivia Bowen chose to simply write love hearts, fans were quick to ask Iain if he was doing OK.
One fan wrote, 'Hope your ok Iain ♥️ We love u!!', with another writing, 'Sending support to all who knew Caroline, just so sad 😢.' (sic)
Iain's girlfriend Laura Whitmore, who presented the Winter series of Love Island earlier this year, also paid her respects to Caroline as she was laid to rest.
Sharing an old photo of the pair together, Caroline wrote on her Instagram Story, 'Beautiful send off yesterday for a life that ended too soon. See you on the other side Flack, have the pina coladas waiting x'. (sic)
Caroline's best friend Lou Teasdale, who is hair and makeup artist to the stars, also paid tribute to her friend online, simply writing, 'Bye beautiful 💔'. [sic)
The tragic news of Caroline's passing was announced on Saturday 15th February, with the TV star's family releasing the following statement,
"We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press both respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."
A lawyer for Caroline's family later confirmed that she took her own life and was found at her flat in London.
