Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo says he's 'staying positive' after brain cancer diagnosis

Johnny Ruffo, known for playing Chris Harrington in Home and Away,** **has revealed that he has been diagnosed with brain cancer.

The Australian actor, who is just 29-years-old, told his fans on Instagram to 'stay positive' as he begins an 'interesting journey' over the next few months as he battles the cancer.

On the 10th August Johnny had a tumour removed from his skull when an abnormality was noticed, after visiting the doctor's with a migraine. After his operation, Johnny posted a disturbing close-up of the staples in his head, along with a photo of himself smiling in a hospital bed, his head bandaged up and his left thumb up.

Since leaving hospital he has continued to post photos on Instagram thanking everyone for their support saying he is 'keeping positive'.

Today Johnny announced his diagnosis asking his fans to 'stay positive' for him after saying he will have to start, 'aggressive treatment for the next few months to fight the diagnosis of brain cancer'.

This post was accompanied by another smiling photo of the actor wearing a long-sleeved top and matching wooly hat.

Johnny rose to fame when he took part in The X Factor Australia in 2011, after releasing a few songs he then joined the cast of Home and Away in 2013.
