He's gone from a 90's heartthrob during his days in boyband Blue to soap bad boy in his recent role in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, but Duncan James went through a traumatic time last year when he suffered a life threatening injury.

In June 2016 Duncan went to A&E when he suffered terrible nerve pains in his legs and later discovered he would need emergency surgery to prevent him from being paralysed.

Now nine-months on Duncan has opened up about his scary ordeal and revealed he is still suffering from his injury.

Opening up in a recent interview with Digital Spy, the singer turned actor admitted the whole experience was horrible, leading him to going through a 'tough time' in his life.

The actor still has zero feeling in his left foot, leading him to walk with a limp.

Duncan explained how his damaged nerves could take up to two years to wake up and admitted he's taking one day at a time, hoping that one day he will be fully fit again.

The 38-year-old also admitted he had to change his lifestyle to adapt and believes things like that happen for a reason.

After a hugely successful career with Blue, Duncan is now portraying the role of Ryan Knight in popular Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

Although his character is currently not in the soap, Ryan is set to make an explosive comeback in the upcoming weeks leading up to the shock death of his girlfriend Amy Barnes.

Hollyoaks teased Amy's death in the explosive trailer earlier in the year with a chilling voice call between Ryan and the ambulance service.

Aside from his role in Hollyoaks, Duncan has been doing his bit for charity recently.

The singer joined forces with the likes of Gareth Gates, Five's Richie Neville, S Club 7's Jon Lee and Ben Ofoedu last weekend when they performed as Girls Aloud for Comic Relief.

Appearing on Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, 'No Boys Allowed' performed Girls Aloud's classic track 'Biology', with each member dressing up as Cheryl, Kimberley, Nicola and co.

They looked amazing! 😂
