Tragically Harriet Shelley, the 21-year-old sister of former Union J singer George Shelley, has died after being hit by a car last week in Bristol.

Harriet had suffered serious head injuries and was being treated in intensive care at Southmead Hospital Bristol.

Her mother Toni Harris had praised hospital staff last week saying that 'Everybody at Southmead Hospital has been amazing, they have been working 24/7 to make sure she is alright.'

'Everybody across different religions in Clevedon and Bristol have been so amazing - they have been praying for our daughter and holding church services.'

Harriet's condition was initially reported to be stable but sadly she took a turn for the worse.

Harriet can be seen smiling alongside her brother in a photo posted on Instagram just two months ago.

George is also known for starring in the 2015 series of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on which he came runner-up.
