Ed Sheeran makes fans laugh with fake 'Sweat and Shame' fragrance advert

He's one of the biggest pop stars in the world with hits such as 'Shape Of You', 'Thinking Out Loud' and 'Perfect', but that doesn't stop Ed Sheeran having a great sense of humour with his fans.

Despite it being the 3rd of April and therefore two days after April Fools Day, Ed has taken to his Instagram page to 'promote' a jokey new fragrance called 'Sweat and Shame'. Seemingly joking with the post, the singer shared a black and white photo of himself 'smizing' into the camera.

Over the photo, Ed wrote the words, 'The new fragrance, Sweat and Shame - coming soon'. Alongside the snap, Ed then added, 'Coming to a duty free near you'. sic

Fans of the 27-year-old were quick to comment on the photo, expressing their humour at Ed's joke.

One fan wrote, 'lol! This is great', with another adding, 'Omg. Would buy if this was for real 😂!'

Another with the username praeseepe, wrote, 'hahahahahaha shut up and take my money 😂😂'. sic

In the past Ed has turned down the chance to bring out his own fragrance, something a lot of other singers like to do. Speaking three years ago, Ed admitted it isn't something he would ever consider because the public thinks he smells like, "sweat, shame and stale cigarettes.”

Ed recently completed the Australian leg of his mammoth 2018 tour and is currently taking a holiday before he performs at shows across Asia.

The singer posted a photo of himself chilling in a swimming pool over the weekend, jokingly captioning it with, 'Thank god for factor 50 sunscreen'.

Ed will return to the UK later in year when he brings his hugely anticipated tour to dates in London, Newcastle, Manchester and Cardiff and Dublin.
