Dr Alex George gets sweet tattoo tribute to late brother Llŷr
His younger brother Llŷr sadly died in 2020
Love Island star Dr Alex George has taken to social media to show off his sweet tattoo tribute to his late brother Llŷr who sadly passed away from suicide in July last year.
Dr Alex, who was appointed the 'Ambassador for Mental Health' by Prime Minister Boris Johnson earlier this year, shared a photo of his new wrist inking on Instagram.
Explaining the reason behind the design, Dr Alex said: 'This ones for you my boy 💙 After losing Llŷr, I have wanted to pay a permanent tribute to him and what he means to me. I miss him every single day. Video is now on my YouTube channel, link is in my bio x' (sic)
He later shared a photo of the finished design, adding: 'To Llŷr 💙 ‘God Of The Sea’ 🌊'.
Dr Alex revealed the devastating news back in July last year that his younger brother Llŷr had tragically died.
The 31-year-old said alongside a photo with Llyr: 'I can’t believe I am actually writing this post. I have lost my beautiful little brother to mental health. I love you so much Llŷr. The kindest and most caring soul.
'I was so proud of you starting medical school next month, you would have been the most incredible doctor. We are hurting so bad. No words can explain. As a family we are devastated. We love you and miss you so much. Please rest in peace x Our boy ♥️.' (sic)
Following the heartbreaking news, Dr Alex released an open letter to Prime Minister Boris Johnson via social media, urging the UK Government to educate all children about mental health issues within schools.
Just one month later in February, Prime Minister Boris Johnson appointed the A&E doctor as an Ambassador for Mental Health, revealing he will work alongside the Government to 'make mental health a priority'.
